The dance school
Mini VRs
An introduction to dance for pre-school children from the age of three. Through movement and music, classes help develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
The class is combines Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre, which allows children to learn basic ballet and tap steps whilst being encouraged to bring their imaginations and creativity for Musical Theatre all of which encourages self-expression and self-confidence
Ballet
Studying the Imperial Classical Ballet syllabi encourages pupils to develop musicality, co-ordination, strength, technique and a joy of dance.
Classes are available from pre-primary to Grade 6 as well as offering classes for the higher level Vocational exams from Intermediate to Advanced 2
Ballet is often referred to as the foundation to all other forms of dance.
Tap
Tap dancing has widespread roots and has influences from such dance styles as the English clog dance, the Irish solo step dance and African dance movements. Dancers learn to create different rhythms by using their feet
as the instrument.
Classes are available from Primary to Grade 6 as well as offering classes for the higher level Vocational exams from Intermediate to Advanced 1/2
Modern
A dance style that combines turns, travelling steps, high kicks and leaps, helping to develop flexibility and strength. Modern dance is a rhythmic dance style known for its theatrical qualities and energy.
Classes are available from Primary to Grade 6 as well as offering classes for the higher level Vocational exams from Intermediate to Advanced 1/2
Musical Production
A performance-orientated class that combines singing, drama and dance. Using music from a wide range of musicals and film, this class helps to develop performance and confidence. From ‘Singing in the Rain’ to ‘Mamma Mia’ this class is sure to be enjoyable!
Street Jazz
Street Jazz has become one of the most popular dance styles in recent years, mainly due to its popularity on television shows, movies, music videos and commercials.
This style of dancing is fun and energetic whilst improving technique, musicality, flexibility and the development of a dancer’s individual style.
Adult Classes
Whether you danced as a child and want to get back to class or have always fancied learning to dance then our adult dance classes in Ballet and Tap may be just what you are looking for.
Examinations
Pupils attaining the requisite standard are selected to be entered for examinations under the ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) if they so desire. All pupils taking examinations are usually required to attend additional classes for more specialised training and coaching.
